sheridan opera house

Telluride, colorado

Kurt's family legacy dates back to the early days of Telluride, Colorado where his grandfather and great uncle, both from Sweden, owned and operated the iconic New Sheridan Hotel and later built the Sheridan Opera House (formerly the Segerberg Theater).  The recent renovation of the Sheridan Opera House prompted Kurt and his late cousin, Col. Bob Anderson, to provide much of the original stenciling design patterns by researching family archives.  The existing stenciling was meticulously restored after being discovered under layers of paint.  The theater is now complete with all its original splendor as well as being included in the National Register of Historic Places.
