ST. SIMON'S ISLAND, GEORGIA

Situated on the western side of St. Simon's Island, this house is oriented to the distant view of the vast tidal marshes that line the intercoastal waterway. While drawing on the traditions of "low-land" architecture, the long and sheltering roof lines are designed to maintain a respectful relationship with their surroundings. The house uses a combination of recycled brick and wood materials to gain greater architectural authenticity. The back decks provide a wonderful natural setting for entertaining both family and friends where oyster roasts are an annual event!
